Vintage Bottles and Poison

I just completed a very fun project for a client. I found some vintage bottles and designed labels of varying different poisons. They just happen to be a selection of the many poisons found in cigarettes. Looking forward to see these props in the film that my client is developing this fall!

Mission Accomplished!

I made them! I have completed three necklaces and I just can't stop... Last month I found the best garage sale ever and I walked away with a handful of vintage necklaces. My mission was to re-bead and re-design. My favorite part about these reclaimed vintage necklaces are their clasps.

I felt like switching up the regular pearl necklace by adding colorful beads of different shapes and sizes.

This necklace uses two costume jewelry roses and a glass, czechoslovakian apple-green bead.

I am a garage sale junky! I have been looking for brooches all summer and have had disappointment after disappointment. Not today! I have more brooches and necklaces than one woman should have. Now I need to get enough nerve to design my brooch necklace that I have been waiting a long time for. 

Here are a few of my favorite finds!

Vintage Eye Candy

Always a lover of color, the collection of vintage fabrics that Abby recently acquired really caught my eye.  When I walk through craft stores of today, I can't seem to find a quality fabric for home decorating with the kind of color that I crave.  I have no use for muted, neutral tones.  Give me bold, obnoxious color.  A row of brightly colored pillows of differing patterns and shapes on a brilliant red couch.  Curtain with florescent flair.

I can't stand to be surrounded for too long by pale tones.  It depresses me.  I once used a large beach towel with citrus colored fish as a temporary upholstery cover on a headboard at a bed and breakfast.  Too many days in that muted room would have been my undoing.

Abby will likely turn these fabrics into something lovely.  Here's a few ideas for inspiration!

Falling Water

We have made an important discovery.  As Abby was out and about taking pictures for a client, she stopped to photograph a stream beside her house.  There she witnessed firsthand the beauty of the falling water, the reflection of light off the rushing droplets.  With a cleansed and refreshed soul, she entered her house only to discover the beauty of the stream is reflected in the items she uses to decorate her home - mercury glass, chandeliers and shining silver.  Each of these things are reminiscent of falling water.  So today we are taking our inspiration from a flowing, life giving stream.  Here are a few of the photos she took of the stream and of the pieces that are in her home.  We included links to some of our favorite items that are like falling water you can wear!  We hope you are as inspired as we are.
